Columbus Arts Festival to Jury Artists February 7 & 8The Columbus Arts Festival presented by Time Warner Cable will help Columbus residents and visitors Discover the Art once again in the Discovery District June 5, 6 and 7. Situated on the campus of Columbus College Art and Design, the Columbus Museum of Art and Columbus State Community College, the Festival will provide Columbus with an amazing selection of artists from across the country, along with live entertainment, great food and hands on activities. Visual artists are selected through a blind jury process. Close to 1,000 artists apply to GCAC's nationally recognized festival, only 230 of whom are invited to participate. Artists submit four images of their work and an image of their booth set-up for the jury panel to score. This panel consists of visual artists, curators, art professors and gallery owners. Artists with the highest scores are invited to come to Columbus. The public is welcome to attend the jurying process, which will take place on February 7-8 at the Upper Arlington Municipal Building. For specific information, please contact Katie Lucas, Festival Director, at klucas@gcac.org or 614-221-8531. The Columbus Arts Festival also features musical performers, poets and street performers during all three days. These artists are also required to apply to participate. All applications are available on GCAC's web site. Time Warner Cable continues to provide generous support to the Columbus Arts Festival through its presenting sponsorship. Time Warner Cable's support, as well as the support of our many other sponsors, enables the Festival to continue to bring the arts to the Columbus. American Electric Power, the Salon Schools Group and Design Communications also dedicate a tremendous amount of resources to the event. If your company is interested in being a part of this event, please contact Katie Lucas. The Festival relies not only on our corporate partners, but also the hundreds of volunteers who dedicate their time to making this event happen. Each year over 300 people volunteer at the Arts Festival in a variety of roles: artist booth monitor, stage hand and souvenir sales and more. Volunteers can sign-up on-line at anytime!
